I. Overview
(1) Purpose:
To ensure that the publication of product information complies with relevant laws and regulations, effectively improve the quality of product information, and fully protect consumer rights, these rules are hereby established.
(2) Scope of Application:
These rules apply to all merchants on the platform.
II. Basic Principles of Product Information Publishing
(1) Definitions:
Product Information refers to any explicit or implicit descriptions made by merchants about the products they sell (including but not limited to basic attributes, category, specifications, sizes, quantities, shelf life, defects, etc.), brands, external packaging, shipping status, transaction accessories, and other related information. This information is presented in any form such as text, images, audio, or video across various consumer-facing scenarios, including store pages, product detail pages, promotion pages, and activity pages.
(2) Basic Requirements:
Merchants must provide complete, truthful, consistent, and clear descriptions of their products.
1. Completeness:
To ensure that consumers have full knowledge when purchasing products, merchants must comprehensively disclose the main information of the products when publishing them. This includes but is not limited to: the product itself (basic attributes, category, specifications, sizes, weight, quantity, shelf life, defects, etc.), brand, external packaging, shipping status, transaction accessories, and any product identifiers required by national laws and regulations.
2. Truthfulness:
Merchants must accurately describe product information based on the actual attributes of the products being sold and promptly maintain and update this information to ensure it is true, correct, and effective. Merchants must not exaggerate, overpromise, or make false promises about the product’s effects or extent. They must also avoid including irrelevant information (such as physical store information, bank accounts, QR codes, non-platform links, non-platform watermarks, non-platform contact information, etc.).
3. Consistency:
The descriptive information of the product must be consistent across all sections of the product page (e.g., product title, main images, attributes, detailed descriptions, etc.).
4. Clarity:
Product-related display images must be clear and easily recognizable. Merchants must avoid using blurry images, compressed images, image splicing, clickbait images, and images that cause discomfort, such as those containing pornography, gore, horror, or repulsive content.
(3) Prohibitive Principles for Product Information Publishing:
Product names, descriptions, key functions, images, and other types of product information must comply with the current effective laws and regulations of the exporting and destination countries, as well as the market policy and regulatory requirements of relevant countries. The following content is strictly prohibited, including but not limited to:
1. Content that undermines national unity, disrupts ethnic solidarity, undermines national religious policies, promotes cults, or disrupts ethnic unity.
2. Content prohibited by laws and administrative regulations.
3. Content that spreads rumors, disrupts social order, or undermines social stability.
4. Content that disseminates obscene, pornographic, gambling, violent, murderous, terroristic, or criminally inciting text or images.
5. Content that insults, defames, or damages the legitimate rights and interests of others.
6. Content that maliciously attacks the platform, damages the business environment, or constitutes unfair competition.
7. Content that involves personal privacy, including customer phone numbers, addresses, etc., such as WeChat, Instagram, MSN, QR codes, personal websites, phone numbers, emails, etc.
8. Unauthorized use of others’ trademarks or other intellectual property information without authorization or legitimate sources.
9. Use of brand terms that do not match the actual brand of the product and strongly suggestive information, such as deliberately using altered trademark terms to refer to brand names or implying that product images are related to infringing brands.
10. Product information containing Chinese characters, Chinese brand names, etc.
11. Other website information, such as “sold on Amazon,” “available on eBay,” etc.
12. Product information that includes prohibited or restricted items or information, as detailed in the “Prohibited and Restricted Sales Rules.”
13. Other products or information that violate laws, regulations, platform service agreements, or other stipulated rules.
III. Requirements for Product Information Publishing
1. Product Title
1.1 Alignment with Product Details:
The product name must align with other information elements such as product images and product descriptions. It should be as accurate, complete, and concise as possible, utilizing common product terms.
1.2 Language and Symbols:
Product titles must be in pure English without any Chinese characters. They must not contain any text or symbols unrelated to the product information and should not exceed 150 characters.
1.3 Consistency and Relevance:
Prohibited practices include mismatching product names with images, inconsistencies between title descriptions and detailed descriptions regarding buyer intentions, inclusion of unrelated words in titles, and title confusion.
1.4 Avoiding Keyword Stuffing:
Titles must not be cluttered with repetitive keywords (including but not limited to product names, brands, models, descriptive terms). For example, a title like “Short Sleeve Long Sleeve Pants New Style” is invalid because “long sleeve” and “pants” belong to different categories and should not appear together in the title.
1.5 Intellectual Property Compliance:
Titles must not use brand keywords without authorization or include terms that pose intellectual property infringement risks.
2. Product Category
Merchants must select the most relevant and appropriate sub-category for their products. Merchants should accurately list their products under the corresponding end-level category based on the actual situation of the product, avoiding any errors.
3. Product Images
3.1 Clarity and Authenticity:
Product images must be clear and truthful, with at least two images provided (five recommended). Authorized images from brands or purchased stock images are acceptable. Unauthorized images are strictly prohibited.
3.2 Main Image Requirements:
Main images must not contain any text or watermarks except for the brand logo and must clearly display the main product.
3.3 Marketing and White-Background Images:
Marketing scenario images and white-background images are beneficial for enhancing product conversion rates.
3.4 Image Format:
Product images must be in JPG, JPEG, or PNG format.
3.5 Image Size and Resolution:
Product images must be within 5MB in size. Recommended aspect ratios are 1:1 (pixels ≥ 800800) or 3:4 (pixels ≥ 7501000).
4. Attribute Standards
4.1 Accurate Attribute Information:
Product attribute information must correspond to the actual product, accurately filling in details such as composition, material, size, brand, model, place of origin, warranty information, and appropriate age suitability.
4.2 Preventing Duplicate Listings:
Merchants must differentiate product attributes and descriptions (including but not limited to brand, specifications, materials, image information, etc.) between different product listings to avoid duplicate listings.
5. Product Description
Product detailed descriptions may include comprehensive introductions, functional descriptions, styles, features, specific usage instructions, packaging information, accessories, and display full images, detail images, packaging images, and effect images of the actual product.
Product detail pages must be complete, consistent, and truthful. To ensure that users have full knowledge when purchasing products, merchants must promptly publish and maintain the main product information, ensuring the information is true, accurate, and effective. Main product information includes but is not limited to: basic product introduction, product selling points, product images, product usage methods, and brand introductions.
IV. Supplementary Provisions
(1) Modification of Rules:
The platform reserves the right to modify, supplement, or update the content of these rules and announce such changes through the merchant portal, platform announcements, etc., before they take effect. Once such announcements are made, they are considered as separately notified to each merchant using Voghion’s services. If merchants continue to use Voghion’s services after the announcement of modifications, supplements, or updates to these rules, it is deemed that merchants agree to comply with the modified, supplemented, or updated rules. Merchants who do not fully understand or agree with all terms must stop registering or logging into the Voghion Merchant Management Platform and must not access these services in any way.
(2) Compliance with Laws:
Merchants must comply with national laws, administrative regulations, departmental rules, and other normative documents. For any actions suspected of violating national laws, administrative regulations, departmental rules, etc., where these rules provide provisions, the provisions apply; where these rules do not provide provisions, the platform has the right to handle them at its discretion within the scope permitted by relevant laws and regulations. However, the platform’s actions do not exempt merchants from their legal responsibilities. In any actions by Voghion, all agreements signed with the platform and all rules, announcements, etc., published by Voghion must also be complied with.
(3) Responsibility for Compliance:
Merchants are obligated to ensure that the products they publish do not violate any applicable legal or regulatory requirements in any jurisdiction. For special products, in addition to meeting these standard requirements, they must also comply with the relevant rules for those special products.
(4) Effective Date:
These rules were first published on September 24, 2024, with a 7-day public notice period, becoming effective on October 1, 2024. Any modifications will be separately announced.
